Fatal Road Traffic Collision
Mobile phone footage was recovered from a fatal Road Traffic Collision (RTC). During the journey the driver lost control and hit a tree.
From the mobile phone footage we were able to identify landmarks which were subsequently compared with aerial imagery of the area. By comparing the time taken to travel between two landmarks we were able to calculate the speed the car was travelling leading up to the RTC and at the time of impact.
FVS have also utilised CCTV to this effect when calculating whether a car was speeding when it struck a pedestrian crossing the road. From the imagery below we were able to determine that the car was travelling at 48mph in a 30mph area
